The Vaporesso Gen 200 released in March of 2022 is the latest and most recent in the Gen line with the previous version the Gen S released to the market in 2019.
With the release of the Gen 200, Vaporesso also released the smaller Gen 80 with a maximum wattage output of 80w compared to the Gen 200 with 220W.
Here’s How Good The Gen 200 Kit Is
The Vaporesso Gen 200 kit is the latest model in the Gen series of devices with a redesign making it smaller and lighter as well as having a new processor regulating power and safety. The Gen 200 kit is a sub-ohm starter kit and has been made to be very easy to use for many types of vapers.
The Gen 200 Kit First glance & Overview
With Vaporesso they have always had really good and well-presented packaging making it very clear of what the product does and giving people a great impression of what to expect and with clean and simplistic packaging.
When opening the box the presentation is very well done with each part having its own individual section. The one we received is the Dark black colour option but they come in six different colors, Arora Green ( Yellow – turquoise, Sunset Pink ( Hot pink to a pastel pink) , Midnight blue, Dark Black, Light Silver and Matte Grey.
Taking the mod out from the packaging and having it in your hand for the first time you will notice it is light and smaller compared to other brands’ devices and even smaller than Vaporesso’s previous version of Gen devices.
The feel of the device is really nice with the mod having a rubberised coating and having a dimple texture on both sides of the device to give a better grip when holding. The fire button is very nice and clicky giving great tactile feedback to know it has been pushed and with 3 additional buttons under the large display to go through settings, mods and increase or decrease the power.
Underneath the button, you will have the USB C port for charging and this can support up to a 2.5 amp charge. Previous models use Micro USB for charging so having USB C is a great upgrade to have.
Popping off the panel at the opposite side of the screen with a small indent at the button allows you to then install batteries which the Gen 200 uses dual 18560s. Once the batteries are installed in the correct orientation shown by the – and + printed icon on the battery sled the device will instantly wake up and display it with the Vaporesso logo then the minimum wattage ( 5 Watts).
You can then take the Vaporesso i-Tank which will have a 0.2-ohm coil pre-installed which is rated from 60 – 75 watts but best at 70 watts and fill this up with your chosen e-liquid. Remember to prime the coils with some liquid before willing or when filled to let it sit for 5 minutes to let the liquid soak up into the coil.
You will also have a 0.4-ohm coil which is rated at 50-60 watts and best at 55 watts. If 0.2-ohm is too much power for you.

Build Quality And Construction
With the redesign of the Gen 200 mod, Vaporesso has managed to make the device smaller and lighter but still maintain a great form and usability throughout. The case of the device is largely plastic made from polycarbonate and has been treated with a metal spray and a rubber coating to give an ergonomic and comfortable grip.
The battery panel is securely held down by a very strong magnet and has no play or wobble.
The i-Tank has a great fill method to make it very easy to fill the tank up however with refilling with a larger bottle like 120ml it is harder to refill as the drip tip is in the way of the bottle. However, the coils are reliable and last a decent amount of time and offer great flavor
How To Use The Vaporesso Gen 200
Using the Vaporesso Gen 200 is very easy and has a very clear display. Once the batteries of a chosen pair of 18650s are installed and once the I-tank that comes with it however is attached to the device it does not auto-detect the coil and change the power that is best.
This is not much of a concern as you can then just simply set the power yourself by using buttons under the screen with the far left to decrease the power or the far right to increase the power.
Once you have primed and filled your tank and attached it to the device and have set the power to the level you wish it is ready to go.
What Is Daily Usability Like Of The Vaporesso GEN 200?
If you have had the previous model of Gen device like the Gen s it is not too dissimilar however The Gen 200 is lighter and smaller but feels just as powerful and great to use.
We have been using it for some time with no signs of issues apart from struggling to use larger bottles to refill, however you simply just need to temporarily remove the drip tip from the tank to refill which is not really a big issue.
The performance and usability have been really easy to use and it has been very reliable in the time it has been tested as part of the review we can see it to be continued to be used on a regular and daily basis.
With the Gen 200 and the i-tank with the 0.2-ohm coil installed and the power set to the recommended 70 watts it got a full day and a half with normal use by using Blow whites Enchanted Strawberry and got just over two weeks for the coil.
It’s great to see a device that can also support more than a 2 amp charge however we are going to stick with using a separate external charger to recharge the battery as it is a more reliable and better option to charge removable batteries and removes preventable stress from the device making it last longer as well as the batteries.

With a competing market, there are a few brands and devices that are similar in style and design. However, looking back at the previous popularity of the older generation of Gen models it will be believable that the Gen 200 will also be very popular
The Vaporesso Target 200 is very similar and both devices share the same processors and interface layout but with design changes, while the target is more rounded and has a raised 510 plate the Gen 200 has a sleeker more box shape and is also smaller.
Both the Target 200 and the Gen 200 share the same tank that comes in their kits, however, in many people’s opinions, the Gen 200 is the better option largely due to the raised 510 plate on the Target 200 and being limited by what tank will fit on it without overhang.

Both the R-kiss and Gen 200 are very small but powerful dual 18650 devices but the Gen 200 comes ahead with it being about a centimeter thinner than the R-kiss.
With the Gen 200 combined with the i-tank, it great does outperform the R-kiss with the coils giving better flavor and lasting longer than the Smok coils

Final Thoughts
This latest version of the Gen series has brought back the reason why we like the original Gen and Gen S models. With its sleek design and simplicity it makes it very easy to use and very enjoyable too and with a large reduction in weight it feels like only the weight of the batteries and tank are there.
Even though the tank can be a bit tricky when using larger bottles is not a deal-breaker with just taking the drip tip out temporarily, the flavor and performance of the GTI coils in the i-tank are great today’s market and are very reliable too.
