Eleaf is a globally recognised brand and has gone on to win multiple awards over the years for its devices at vapour expos in the UK.

Eleaf continues to offer products to the market as well as attending Vapour expos to show the world their latest products.

Here’s How Good Eleaf is

The Eleaf brand is well known within the vaping community and has been a pioneer in the industry creating and leading the way in innovation and style. Aimed more at beginners for their well designed, compact and easy to use kits, more advanced users also love the way they perform and the reliability of their products.

A Brief History of Eleaf

Founded in 2011 in Shenzhen, China with one of the first devices from them, the iStick 20W was released in 2014. The company became synonymous with its simple but unique designs yet being at such an affordable price.

Eleaf is praised for its breakthrough innovation with its products such as the iStick line. Starting with the iStick 20W in 2014 and now in 2021 with the iStick power 2 with features such as “Smart” which sets the mod to perfect settings based on coil and battery.

In 2015 Eleaf released the well known and popular Eleaf Istick Mini, this kit was largely popular with beginners due to the very small size and compact design as well as being a very simple to use device with a 10w output powered by a 1050 mAh built-in rechargeable battery charged via a micro USB.

The Eleaf Istick mini was typically sold as a separate device but was often paired with Aspires K1 tank which is designed for mouth to lung use and has 1.5ml  liquid capacity. These combined together are a very inexpensive kit typically sold from $35 – $45.

Eleaf has since released an updated version of the Istick Mini in 2021 called the Istick Mini 2 with a larger capacity battery with 1100 mAh and a new stylish design.

The Istick Mini 2 comes with their own tank sold as a kit form which is called the GS Air 4 which is one of the first of its kind to have a draw to activate style on a removable tank and is an MTL draw.

Mid 2015 Eleaf released the Ijust 2 kit well known for the unique design at the time being a stick style and making it an easy carry as it is a uniform cylindrical thickness making it easy to hold and use.

The device held an internal built-in rechargeable 2600 mAh battery, the device has no adjustments of power level making it very simple to use for beginners, the tank that came with the kit had a 5.5ml liquid capacity.

While Eleaf’s history on products may not be as well known, and Eleaf now redesigning their older generation of products, it is a very good choice with today’s market to continue offering simple and easy to use devices for the latest generation of new and old vapers.

Who Owns Eleaf?

Eleaf is part of a brand coalition being comprised of Eleaf, Wismech and Joytech all under the brand known as JWEI Founded in 2008 with its headquarters in Jiangsu China and with other offices in the USA and Switzerland.

JWEI seeks to provide R&D for these brands as well as occurring PMTAs for the American market and TPD certification for the EU market.

Where Are Eleaf Products made?

Eleaf products are made in Shenzhen province, China.

The majority of all vape products are made from this province in China.

Eleaf has a large distribution network around the world, and can easily be found in most vape shops and online retailers.

The Quality Of Eleaf Products

Eleaf’s quality has been well recognised within the vaping market with the materials such as zinc alloy chassis and stainless steel and the build of the product in terms of durability. After extensive R&D, Eleaf now focuses more on ergonomics within their design process and this can be seen in mods such as the iStick Pico and iSolo while still being able to produce them at affordable rates.

Most notable is for their Pico devices known for their performance, design and construction of design that has recently been redesigned for today’s market.

Are Eleaf Devices Safe & Reliable?

With Eleaf being a pioneer in the vaping industry that has often been well regarded as producing safe and reliable products and having built-in safety features into its devices to maintain levels of quality and reliability.

Some of Eleaf’s safety features are:

  • smart coil protection – stops output when there is not enough liquid in the tank. This prevents dry hits.
  • Over time protection –  to prevent you from drying out the coil while dragging and prevents dry hits
  • Battery Protection has 2 features. One is for over-charge and another is for over-discharge.

If you Overcharge or over-discharge a battery this can severely hamper battery life and or render it completely dead.

These features combined with the reliability and ease of use is what keeps people coming back for more and allow Eleaf to keep producing new products with new and updated features.

How Long Do Eleaf Products Last?

Eleaf’s use of materials, designs and simplicity in their proprietary boards controlling and regulating their devices leads their devices to last a very long time with some devices lasting up to and over 5 years.

Coils for their atomizers typically last between 1 and 2 weeks. However this will depend on the user and the type of E-Liquids used as some e liquids contain more sweeteners which can make the coil burn out quicker.

Eleaf utilizes built-in and removable batteries in their devices, the batteries are Li-ion batteries and with care, they can last many years. It is worth noting to only use a power source that delivers the recommended amp the batteries or device requires as in some cases having an increased amp rating can damage the battery and it will not last as long.

You can find battery requirements from the user manual but a good rule to follow is to not charge any device over 1 amp unless recommended otherwise. It may be a slower charge but it will help ensure the longevity of the device.

Exposing any device to moisture is also not recommended unless the device is water-resistant rated, if any liquid leaks from the attached tank to the device be sure to wipe any leaks off the device.

How Is The Warranty On Eleaf Products?

With many brands, they offer a limited warranty but do not typically offer warranties on tanks like with Eleaf, Eleaf offers a 28-day warranty on all kits, which covers the devices and as well as the tank included in the kit.

The battery chargers the Eleaf produces under the name of Golisi are covered under a 12-month warranty and cover component parts.

Eleaf’s warranty on coils fall into what is called DOA (dead on arrival)  warranty and purchasers have 48 hours from the day of receipt to check the coils are in working order and to report any faults to Eleaf by contacting Eleafs customer service.

Many brands do not have any warranties on coils due to the disposable nature and usage of the coils.

It is also worth knowing that warranties may not be covered under these conditions;

  • Cannot provide original receipt of purchase
  • Failure or damage caused by improper use ( liquid damage )
  • Failure or damage due to usage with non- Eleaf components
  • Modified in any way
  • Glass, case, or battery is damaged or worn

Are There Any Typical Problems With Eleaf Products?

With the designs, QC and research and development there have not been many reports with major issues or safety concerts however this is not to say there are not typical issues that may occur.

There have been some reports of minor issues largely for Eleaf’s older products.

One issue that is fairly common not just amongst Eleaf is to do with leaking from the base of the tank, this can be due to the ambient temperature as the warmer temperature can make e liquids become thinner and pass throw the coil easier as well as taking a puff to hard pulling excessive liquid into the coil and not being atomized.

With one style of device, the Eleaf Invoke some users have reported that the latch that holds the battery door closed can become loose over time and can be opened too easily. This can be due to wear and tear on the switch that keeps it closed and is also a common issue with other devices that use a similar style closing mechanism.

Can You Still Buy Old Eleaf Accessories?

Eleaf has continued production of some of their original products and also make OEM ( Original equipment manufacturer) devices for some companies like Totally wicked and Arc mainly based and sold in the UK and Europe. This leads to the continuation of older accessories such as coils and replacement coils.

However, like with most brands when releasing new or even updated versions of products the older generation accessories may become harder to acquire but currently, you can purchase accessories from Eleaf them selfs from their website or from any retailers and vape shops.
