ToggleA Brief History Of The Uwell Brand:
In 2015 Uwell was established as Shenzhen Uwell Technology Co., Ltd.
2015 brought to the market the Uwell Crown sub-ohm tank which soon became a must for the ever-growing vape users. This was their placeholder and start for their soon-to-be Crown Series which the Crown line is still going strong today.
Uwell’s next step into 2016 was the crown 2 had such intense expectations leading up to disappointment as many were unsatisfied with the way the coils performed. An RBA option was eventually sold separately alongside the original product however the damage to Uwell’s reputation had already been done and the crown 2 was labeled a controversial topic as many either hated or loved the tank.
In 2017 Uwell didn’t just sit down and take the loss from last year, the company redesigned Crown 3 which unlike the controversy with the Crown 2 the year before, the people were very happy all around. The new design reduced leaking compared to other tanks on the market at that time and overall everyone agreed that Uwell had taken its Crown back.
This combined with The release of the Vylarian Kit to compete with the SMOK TFV12 series of tanks and devices.
In 2019 there was a large demand for advanced pod systems, people wanted to fill pods with different flavors and not be tied to only a hand full of flavors like how Juul and Vype were doing. Some brands did this very well and some did not as well badly but Uwell was a brand that did exceptionally well in this area.
In the last 3 years, Uwell released a few versions of the Caliburn kits ( Caliburn G, Koko, Caliburn A2, and The Koko A2), small but stylish box, and pen-style pod mods that were discreet enough for any situation. The Yearn was no different with their Neat devices, coming in bring vibrant colors with just as powerful coils in the same compact design both of these devices are set at very reasonable prices for starters making them ideal for a beginner or an advanced user looking for something compact.
The Quality Of Uwell Products
Uwell has been some of the nicest looking and best-designed products on the market as they have done a lot of research and development. They are made from high-grade aluminum and plastics and with their more recent products now have USB C charging which now meant the charging ports are even more durable.
All the Uwell Products have overall been fantastically made for everyday use from the functional design aspect and stand out as well as be easily recognized in the market against its competitors.
There have been not many cases of issues apart from some normal coil issues this is largely due to user error and not turning the device off when putting it into a pocket or just not in use and the fire button is being pushed. It is always a good thing to remember to power off the device when not in use
How Reliable Are Uwell Products?
Being made from high-grade aluminum and plastic they are very durable this combined with the powder-coating leaves a nice feel in the hand.
Due to the construction of their more modern products, it makes the pods and tank very easy to replace coils with just unscrewing one part or just popping off a pod and pulling out the coils. This adds to the ease of use and leaves less room for coils not working correctly.
The design of the Uwell Caliburn Outranks the competitors like Vuse/Vype, Blu, and many others due to the design and use of aluminum combined with being able to use many other flavors and nicotine strength and especially at the price point of $16 – $30.
As with most products in the industry, they go through Quality control. Uwell has a very good QC standard this is also largely due to the heavy R&D ( research and development) which cuts and finds a lot of issues be for coming to market. Not to say that other competitors don’t do R&D but not as much as Uwell does.
You can easily say that there are not very many issues if any with the devices other than the odd coils but this is normal and can be expected across the market.
With a quick google of the Uwell brand, you will see may review highly recommending Uwell devices for their build quality, design, and as well as Functionality
How Long Do Uwell Products Typically Last?
With the design and construction of Uwell products, you can safely say that they will last a very long time. This is largely due to the R&D section of Uwell and testing many different aspects of their products to give the end-user the best experience.
Normally in the industry, it is said that products will on average last between 6 months – 2 years but this can vary from person to person.
Coils are one such thing that is unfortunately not covered under warranties this goes for nearly all vape brands as they are classed as consumable.
With that in mind, it is not uncommon that coils last a few days but it is more likely you will only have a good experience and have coils last you on average around 2- 3 weeks depending on what type of liquids you use.
Has The Uwell Brand Made Any Recalls?
Now Uwell did have a recall on some of Uwells products in the USA as the FDA (Food And Drug Administration) sent out warning letters to many different vaping manufacturers and retailers demanding that some vaping products be removed from the market.
Most of the items are unique and products such as watch-style vape devices, a mod styled like a Gameboy, and even a hoody designed for stealth vaping are some that have been found on the list but one is a very popular refillable pod vape, the Uwell Caliburn.
However, of the 89 violations found on the list, just two or three appear to be from actual vape shops. Most of the violators were convenience stores such as 711 as well as tobacco stores and even some gas stations. The FDA announced that 16 retailers had received warning letters.
None were vape shops. So you may still find in some vape shops in the USA the Caliburn Systems.
Uwell’s Product Warranty?
Uwell generally offers a 90-day warranty from the date of purchase however this is for the authorized distributors and wholesalers which means this applies to only customers who purchase directly from Geek Vape or an authorized distributor/wholesaler can qualify.
This does not mean you can not claim the warranty, it will just mean that it is a slightly longer process, as you will have to contact the retailer you bought your Uwell products from and they will have to contact their supplier on your behalf.
This is typical in some vape manufactures but all information about their warranty can be found on the warranty page on the Uwell website.
However, you may have an extended warranty or additional guarantees depending on which store or site you have purchased from. It is also worth checking your local state and country terms as they may differ.
Warranty does not cover:
- Coils ( atomizers), Pods, and mouth species
- Accessories ( Due to being consumable products)
- Misuse, damage, or other failures caused other than manufacturing
Are Uwell Products Safe?
There have been no reports of issues regarding safety. Being large that is internationally recognized Uwell ad hears to very high standards.
Uwell carries CE Markings as well as FCC Certifications. It is important to note that these are not safety certifications but it does mean the manufacturer affirms the good’s conformity with European health the United States, safety, and environmental protection standards and the FCC certification means that it complies with federal standards.
Battery use, especially with using external batteries is important to use the correct charging equipment and take proper care and maintenance of your vapes overall. The correct use of tanks and liquid care is important also.
No know electrical issues, most devices come with regulated PCBs (computer boards) and therefore have plenty of inbuilt safety.
Some concerns about reliability but nothing we can find on safety issues.
What Are The Most Popular Uwell Products?
With all that Uwell has done since 2015, there are a few that are worth mentioning more
With this starter kit, one of the most notable is the Caliburn series. This is very largely due to the overall usability of the product, size, and fantastically elegant construction.
From the original Caliburn with a semi-sealed pod design to the more recent Caliburn A2 going back to the original concept of the semi-closed pod but redesigned with a sleeker more rounded style and with a small window to see liquid levels.
The Nunchaku which was aimed at intermediate and more advanced users it was a massive competitor to the SMOK stick Products. Uwell took the concept of the popular stick vape style and improved upon it making it have controllable wattages and even a removable battery making it one of the first removable stick style vapes on the market.
It’s also worth mentioning the Crown line as well with their still very popular and massive following of the Crown 4.
This Mid to a higher tier of products the Crown 4 kits are of the more squared-off design a lot of people prefer this to a curvy styled design like the Aegis Legend or the Smok Mag mods. This is Mainly due to Uwell just makes a dual battery device that little bit smaller than some of its competitors.
What Other Brands Produce Similar Products to Uwell products?
The Vape Industry has a lot of competition and competitors all wanting to be at the top but Uwell is for sure in the top ten.
With the release of the 1st generation of Crown tanks, it was a direct competitor to the popular SMOK TFV4 but Uwell knocked them off their place producing fantastic coils with great rich flavor. ( I had both and much preferred the Crown in my opinion)
The Nunchaku 2 is Uwell answer to SMOKS and even Freemaxes Stick mods. The nunchaku being more against Freemaxes Twister kits, both offering variable power settings.
It would be unfair to say that Uwell and Geek Vape are similar as Geek vape targets some of the same types of vapers but more aimed towards a much more rugged style of people. This being said the Vyliarin Tank and kits and just as popular as the Geek vape Aegis Line.
What Are The latest Uwell Products On The Market?
The Crown 4 is still being produced today with coils and accessories as well.
The very latest is the release of the Caliburn A2 and KOKO A2 Kits being a redesign / a step back to the original Caliburn kit from early 2019 and remains perfect for beginners for around $25 – $40 mark.

Final Thoughts
